Privacy policy

The app does not upload your files to us

Transfers take place directly between your Mac and your Android device over USB or your local Wi-Fi network. The app does not send file contents, filenames, device identifiers or backup contents to the publisher. It has no advertising or analytics SDK and requires no publisher account.

What the app accesses locally

The app reads the files and folders you choose to browse, preview, transfer, compare, organise or back up. Android access requires USB debugging and approval on your phone, or Wireless debugging and pairing. macOS may request access to your selected folders.

Preferences, favourite-folder paths and access bookmarks are stored on your Mac. Saved backup jobs include the phone identifier, selected paths, options and last-completion date. Local backup records contain relative paths, content fingerprints and saved-copy locations so unchanged files can be skipped. Transfer history lasts for the current app session.

Temporary files and retention on your devices

Previewing a phone file creates a temporary Mac copy. Preview copies are removed when the preview closes, and thumbnail copies after the thumbnail is generated. Crashes or interrupted transfers can leave temporary or partial staging files; known cleanup failures are reported in transfer history.

Preferences and backup records remain locally until removed. Removing a favourite does not delete its folder. Removing a backup job stops that job; it does not delete copied files or automatically erase the separate backup ledger. Transferred and backed-up files remain wherever you chose to save them. The publisher cannot remotely inspect or erase this local information.

Android authorisation and pairing

Android Debug Bridge stores an authorisation key on your Mac. Wi-Fi pairing codes are used for pairing and are not saved by the app. You can remove a Wi-Fi pairing by choosing this Mac under Wireless debugging → Paired devices on your phone and tapping Forget. Only approve computers you trust. You can revoke debugging authorisations in your phone’s Developer options. Closing this app does not revoke the Mac’s authorisation, and a shared Android service may remain available to other software.

Purchases

Apple processes Pro purchases. StoreKit provides product details and signed purchase information used to unlock or restore Pro. The app does not receive your payment-card details. See Apple’s privacy policy.

When you email support

If you email support@filetransferforandroidandmac.com or contact@filetransferforandroidandmac.com, Mikel Besga receives your email address, message and any attachments through the email services used to deliver and manage correspondence. This information is used to answer your request, troubleshoot the issue and maintain relevant support correspondence. Please do not send passwords, USB authorisation keys or unrelated personal files.

Support information is retained only as needed to handle the request and related follow-up, or to meet applicable legal obligations and resolve disputes. You can request deletion by emailing the address above. Email service providers may process correspondence to deliver and manage messages. Data may be processed in countries outside your own.

This website

This site is designed for hosting on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare necessarily processes technical request information, such as IP addresses and request metadata, to deliver and protect hosted pages. Its retention and international processing are described in Cloudflare’s privacy policy. This site includes no analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, contact forms or cookies set by its own code.

Your choices and rights

You decide which folders to grant access to, which files to transfer and whether a backup runs when a phone connects. Automatic backups are opt-in and require the app to be running.

Where data-protection law applies, handling a support request may be necessary to provide the requested service; proportionate follow-up, security and dispute handling may rely on legitimate interests, and some records may be retained to meet legal obligations. Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal data you sent us, or object to its processing. Email the privacy contact above. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority; in Spain, this is the AEPD.

Changes to this policy

If the app’s data handling or the website’s services change, this policy and its update date will be revised.

Optional Finder extension

If you enable Finder integration, the app and extension share a local device list, favourite-folder paths and temporary requests containing selected file paths and access bookmarks. Device entries expire after 15 seconds. Selection requests are single-use and expire after two minutes; old request files are pruned when a new request is created. File contents are not stored in this shared list. Nothing is sent to the publisher.
